Artsy Flora

The feeling of appreciation is very nice, there’s a certain tranquility and amusement, at the same time. Perhaps it is by chance to stare at these wonderful plants at our garden, and it is only today that I realize how amazing they are….considering that mom had these plants for such a long time.

I’d like to thank the macro feature of digital cameras, the fact that they get to capture images at a very small distance is pretty neat! It is never too late for me to appreciate the small nicest things in this planet. :)

Wow Mali

Eh kase naman ang hilig ko daw mag buy ng gamit and after a few months time, I will sell it.

So I’m selling my pink laptop table, dahil hinde ko naman talaga ginagamit.

Me: Yes avail pa po.

Buyer: Ah ok, thanks.

=======

=======

I checked my post, and sigurado akong TABLE at hinde TABLET ang nakalagay dun. Talagang nalito lang sya or makulit lang kausap. And given her premise  na ako ang nagkamali and we substitute tablet sa ad ko, ganto magiging kinalabasan:

PINK LAPTOP TABLET — ayus, laptop na tablet pa…hehehhe! kalerkey.

Natatawa ako sa fact na I uploaded images so that my posted ad is very transparent, pero may mga ganun pa ring instances.

Disclaimer: This does not happen everyday, kaya po masarap tawanan :)

How long is movie marathon?

They say that the best way to start the year right is to give more time on things that you did not pay attention to, did not care the most, or things that you would not like to regret in the future. Last year, there were several movies I was deprived of, not that I don’t have time to do so, but I choose to divert my time in some other things. So this year I decided to review more movies, some sort of mental maneuver.

In Time (2011) = this is a science fiction thriller that stars Amanda Seyfried, (Sylvia) Justin Timberlake, (Will Salas) Cillian Murphy, (Raymond Leon) Matt Bommer, (Henry Hamilton) and the film was written, directed and produced by Andrew Niccol. The story revolves around the concept of aging, where people stops at 25, got a year to live. The rich people can live eternally and the poor, well they are struggling to survive. I like the idea of living by minutes, you get to value your life more than ever, and just as how fast your life minute will be taken away by people who also want to live longer. Here’s a movie line that hits me: “though your body may not be worn out, your mind is. We want, we need, to die.”

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars.

Paranormal Activity 3 = Yes another horror movie phenomenon for 2011, now being directed by Henry Joost, Ariel Schulman, who are the makers of 2010 Catfish. 20% of the movie are a bit surprising, not totally scary for me, like the scene where Julie walks into the kitchen and sees its empty, and suddenly, all the utensils and furniture fall from the ceiling, scaring Julie out of the room. The ending does not create a thrilling experience at all, other than seeing the devil broke Dennis’ spine. Perhaps I am just not a fan of movie-setup-camera, and it does not scare me at all.

Rating: 2.5 out of 5 stars.

Real Steel (2011) = is based on the 1956 short story “Steel” by Richard Matheson, which does not materialize during that time, and not until June 2010 when they decided to produce the film and began shooting. This stars Hugh Jackman as Charlie Kenton, Dakota Goyo as Max Kenton, Kevin Durand as Ricky, Evangeline Lilly as Bailey Tallet, Hope Davis as Debra , Karl Yune as Tak Mashido. The movie revolves around the life of Charlie, a former boxer who’s fascinated to robot boxing, and lost several of them. Together with Max, his son, they recreated Atom using Noisy Boy’s spare parts. The story unfolds lessons about boxing discipline, winning, and family relationships.

Movie tagline: If you get one shot, make it real.

Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars.

So there you have it folks, next time, if my laziness permits, I would be reviewing some more.

Gender tagging in gaming consoles?

Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, Nintendo DS, what first comes to your mind? Fun. Real-time. Controllers. Guns. RPGs. Men.

I grew up learning gaming consoles at an earlier age. The family computer star wars, super mario, tetris, pacman, battle city era are the ones that influenced me in learning this world, and up until this tactical 3d gaming epoch, I cannot detest the fact that I am a gamer and will always be. The “G bloodline” runs through me as my family serves as my mentor in being not just fair but extremely good in the world of gaming. Of course I’ve tried barbie dolls, kitchen stuff, girl fantasies, playhouse, but it does not bring an exhilarating experience compared to gaming console. For some, the barrier with this idea, is me being a woman… unfathomable as they say, and it is more often followed by the logic that women who are into games are either lesbians or got nothing nice to do in life. How pitiful it sounded to me.

It is cliché to say that “Games” denote a masculine connotation. And perhaps this misconception belongs to the cynics who had been left behind by this technological world. Just look around you, the video game industries created console that would suit both gender, Wii caters action oriented control which is very much enjoyed by women, oldies and kids. Facebook offers games not for-men-only, but had given great deal of options, regardless of your gender. A million gaming apps can be downloaded, more multi-tasking games which targets 75% of women, (of course I’m shitting with the percentage), and there are thousands of RPG games that becomes a whole new world of entertainment, where masculinity has been toned down or discarded.

This stereotype mindset that gaming appeals only to male sector must be thwarted. It is about time to open our minds that this form of entertainment is deserved by fine ladies as well.
